It's that time of year again, when the pediatrician's office is full of sick kids! This can be a really traumatic experience for young children with special needs who get sick or require hospitalization. Despite being orally told what to expect, these children have a hard time internalizing the target vocabulary and letting themselves be "talked off the ledge". My Socially Speaking™ Technique, which I discuss in my Socially Speaking™ Seminars, utilizes videography of Social Stories, in addition to the written hard copy, to help the child with special needs who has difficulty with social skills and self regulation, especially transitioning. Social Stories, particularly in digital video format with music and photos that are visually relevant to THEM, help these children with Autism and other special needs adapt to unexpected/unwanted changes in routines/upcoming events. Well It Feels Good To Make A Come Back of Making These Autism Videos and Guys Thanks for the feedback comments. in this video i talk about as people working in a jobs, they should be given a chance come on, we put more hard work into it than an nt person would do. if i was me i wouldnt muck around in the work place, im meature and honest person.and also the other thing i talk about is my personal life aswell, if theres anything to say i would say it on youtube, im not a fake autistic person, iv even got paper work to prove that iv got AS. feel free to comment on this video :) enjoy - Charlie. and work these days are hard to get. |

This is a video of my 3 year old son, who has Autism Spectrum Disorder. He is not able to communicate through speech yet, but he does communicate with sign language. This is my 6 year old brother, Connor talking. I honestly could not even tell you WHY he's decided to go on this shpeel about other worldly things, people dying and what not. He does have a form of Autism, which might be why things just flow out of his mouth. He's in his own world and we're OK with that and love him all the same. |

Cole is 9 and he has OCD and High-functioning Autism. He is a strong kid and isn't afraid to challenge his "Worry Monster" (what we call OCD) He was going to bed and he saw a cob web on the window. It "worried" him because he thought there might be an egg and baby spiders were going to go everywhere all over the house and all over him and he just got more and more worked up (we call this catastrophizing). He wanted to move to a different room. We began the exposure before I thought to grab the camera. He is been in intense therapy for a year, so he knows the process and you can see that his anxiety dissipates really quickly. It's important to note that he has to choose to participate and teach his brain that this situation is not a threatening situation. If I had scooped up the cobwebs and put them on him it would have only reinforced his fear. |
